How long has it been since you looked at your hiring process and adjusted it so it fits with today's market? If speed is not one of your top priorities, you are likely spending more money than you should be and loosing top talent along the way. Speed is critical when connecting with talent to fill job openings because the job market is highly competitive, and top talent is in high demand. The longer it takes for a company to contact a candidate or schedule the next steps, the more likely it is that other companies will swoop in and hire that person. Acting quickly can give a company a competitive advantage in attracting and hiring the best talent. As a society, we are becoming more and more accustomed to instant feedback. Today’s job seeker expects a timely response from potential employers. If a company takes too long to respond to a candidate's application or interest, the candidate may assume that the company is not interested in them, and they may move on to other opportunities. While we highly recommend a diligent hiring process, it’s important to do so in a timely fashion. Lengthy hiring processes can be a drain on a company's resources, both in terms of time and money. The longer it takes to fill a job opening, the more time and resources the company must spend on recruiting and training, which impacts the company's bottom line.
